a+ce was born from a simple frustration:
why was it so hard to find leggings that didn't show panty lines?
it sounds like a small thing. it drove us mad.
We all know the struggle. Leggings that look great but...
aren’t comfortable. comfortable but show panty lines. leggings you can work out in… but wouldn't wear from coffee to dinner, or even on holiday.
so we made one pair that does all of it. no visible panty lines. that's what vpl means, and it's the thing we set out to fix.
completely squat-proof. and comfortable enough that you forget you're wearing them.
two years of getting it wrong
that turned out to be much harder than it sounds.
fabrics that felt beautiful but went sheer the moment you bent over. waistbands that rolled down within an hour. sample after sample that passed the mirror test and failed the squat test.
two years and 15 samples later, we had one pair that did everything we wanted.

we make less, on purpose
small range. small runs. that's deliberate.
we'd rather make a few things properly than push out new colours every season and hope something sticks. it means we sell out sometimes. it also means nothing we make ends up in landfill because we over-ordered.
when we add something, it's because it earned its place – not because it's a new season.

a note from our founder
i started a+ce because i was fed up.
not with anything dramatic. just with getting dressed and immediately feeling self-conscious. i'd spent years in leggings that showed everything, rolled at the waist, or went see-through the moment i bent over. i kept thinking someone should just fix this properly.
so i spent two years doing it.
these are the leggings i wanted and couldn't buy. i hope they do for you what they did for me – which is mostly to let you stop thinking about what you're wearing.
